I sat down yesterday to write a mid-year life audit and couldn’t finish it. Some of the hardest things that happened this year aren’t mine to tell. So I went to the mic instead.
While I was setting up, I picked up a leather journal my mom gave me in December of 2019. I wrote in it from 2020 to 2021, through a torturous breakup, a pandemic, parenting two teenage boys, and feeling the absolute lowest I have ever been. In this CATTE episode I read a few of those journal entries out loud for the first time.
